Nowhere is the problem more evident than in critical care units, where hundreds of thousands of data samples are generated by a single patient every hour. Yet, 99.9% of that information will be discarded, preventing it from contributing to future care decisions for that patient.
Until we can access and aggregate data from the many disparate platforms being used in care settings, we can’t accurately inform machine learning models that will ultimately help care providers make better decisions.
